The Bidar District Police have started a Mobile C.U.G.(Closed use group) scheme for all its officers PSI rank and above from the 1st of January 2009. Fixed post-paid numbers have been allocated to the officers in the names of their designations, so that even if the officers are transferred, the numbers remain the same for the post. This feature will come in very handy for the general public as they need not keep changing the numbers and also the officer can be contacted at any hour of the day round the clock. An other special feature of this scheme is that when the officers speak to each other within the group, there will be no call charges and will be free. This will add to better communication and coordination among officers. As of now 75 post-paid connections have been taken from BSNL and it may be further expanded.
BSNL on request has agreed to waive off all extra charges of activation and CUG charge as a public friendly measure and therefore the scheme has been successfully implemented.
